This work is shown bright through the providing of digital language resources for the enrolled members of the Monacan Indian Nation, as well as other indigenous people of Tutelo, Saponi, and Monacan descent. Born from a grant from The Endangered Language Fund's Native Voices Endowment, the Tutelo-Saponi Monacan Living Dictionary will house over 3,000 words and phrases alongside accurate audio recordings and culturally relevant images and videos by the end of 2023. Language is an identifier for many, and while there are no fluent speakers left, it is vitally important that the Tutelo-Saponi language is kept alive for others to hear.
