Physical Education
At Triangle Montessori Academy, we believe we believe physical education should be a part of everyday life, in order to develop a healthy body and mind. Positive encouragement, teamwork, good sportsmanship and physical exercise are all keys to developing both self respect and respect for others. Chess
As part of our regular class offering, all children will enjoy TMA’s specialty chess unit, developed by our own staff. Children who are interested and who have mastered the chess unit in the classroom will have an opportunity to take private lessons with a specialist once a week. It’s one more way we encourage a child’s mind expansion at TMA.
Music
At Triangle Montessori Academy, we believe music is an everyday exercise that all children enjoy. Music is integrated to the everyday curriculum at circle time by sharing new songs and dances from around the world. The Directress will practice on musical instruments such as drums, bells, xylophone during Music Together class once a week. Children will have lessons on major composers in world history such as Bach, Beethoven, and Haydn.
Children’s Yoga
Yoga helps children develop better body awareness, self-control, flexibility and coordination. Playful poses such as Cat, Flower and Airplane – as well as partner poses that can be performed with friends – teach children the basics of Yoga. With the help of “flash cards” children can develop both cognitive and physical skills, such as mental focus, balance and strength. It can be the beginning of a life long yoga practice.
Violin
Yoga helps children develop better body awareness, TMA is proud to work with Triangle Strings for training with the violin. Piano
