At Triangle Montessori Academy (TMA), we are supporters of all things “art.” That’s why we have started the TMA Music Academy, an education center focused completely on music, instruction, and learning to play instruments.
It’s been proven that children can rapidly pick up a second language with the right education. This same kind of learning magic happens with kids and music. There’s a specific window of time, between the ages of four and eight, when the potential for development of the musical ear in young children is the greatest.
“It’s important to start early!” says Matthew Beechhold, Musical Director. “The younger children are when they begin their musical involvement the more musical they will become. At the TMA Music Academy, our curriculum is designed to maximize this developmental period and cultivate the musical gift in every young child.”

Triangle Montessori Academy is a Cary preschool emphasizing art, mathematics, practical life, Spanish, yoga, mediation, and music. The private, year-round school was founded in 2008 and accepts children from 18 months old up to six years old. The school is a member of the American Montessori Society and all teachers are AMS-certified. Students at the school are exposed to Montessori-style teaching approaches, including individual learning according to each child’s style and pace, multi-age classrooms that allow children to advance when they are ready, and a nurturing of students’ natural curiosity.
