Here at TMA, November is known as our Community Give Back Month. Each November, TMA picks a local Charity that we support as a school family.
This year our TMA families graciously gave to Catch a Lift catchaliftfund.org by donating Coins for Veterans. We raised $200.
We also asked the families to send in photos of the people in their lives that served in the military, and we created our Wall of Honor – Heroes without Capes. It was such a lovely experience watching the children walk by every day and talk to their peers about the people in their lives that served in the military and gave us all the gift of freedom.
Catch a Lift was touched by our donation, and sent the children of TMA a Thank You video message.
Our second opportunity for the children to give back was through the Pine Level Fire Department. They teamed up with the US Veterans Corps to transport supplies to the survivors of Hurricane Helene, a storm that devastated the NC Mountains. Thank you to the TMA parents and students, who once again, answered the call.
Giving Back and teaching generosity to young children has tremendous benefits. As Montessorians, our mission is always educating the whole child. The character of a child is as important as the academics. Our goal is to create compassionate, conscientious, and engaged citizens of the world.
