As we prepare to get into the swing of a new school year, it is so important to remember to mimic the school schedule at least 2-3 weeks before the first day. While this is a challenge because some families are still traveling, try to take baby steps – such as keeping a bedtime/dinner routine on your vacation (as much as possible) and remember healthy eating habits. Allow your children to pick out pajamas and put them on. They can brush their teeth and wash their face independently. Toddlers are able to do the same, with a bit of guidance. Remember, set the bedtime expectations (2 books and a hug – or whatever you arrange) and avoid last minute negotiations. This will help routines be successful in the future!
