We came across an article highlighting the importance of autonomy as children transition into college. I know this feels like light years away, but the content reaffirms Montessori philosophy. It demonstrates the need for parents to understand the importance of creating an independent child with a “can-do” outlook on life.
From the early stages of a Toddler Montessori classroom through the Upper Elementary Program, we are teaching the children skills they need to be self-assured, self-advocating, self-directed and self-sufficient problem solvers, ready to meet challenges in their educational journey. Sending your child into the world with these skills is essential for them to be confident, emotionally mature and successful young adults.
